Description

Since 2009, sinkholes have appeared along the shores of the Dead Sea. These sinkholes are getting larger every year, as the water level of the Dead Sea continues to recede. The water level today is as low as at the time of the battle, recorded in Genesis 14, between Chedorlaomer and his confederates and the kings of the Cities of the kikkar. The Genesis record tells us that the kings of Sodom and Gomorrha fell into ‘slime pits’. The Hebrew indicates that these were ‘clay pits’, or ‘sinkholes’ in modern terminology. These two kings with their fleeing soldiers must have fallen into similar sinkholes that appeared at that time.
