Description

This simple plan shows the main city walls of Jerusalem in the Second Temple period, together with the valleys that surrounded the city at that time.
The First Wall ran above the Hinnom and Kedron Valleys, while its northern part was built above the Transversal Valley. The Second Wall was added by King Herod the Great, while the Third Wall was began in an effort to stave off the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD.
