Description

Laodicea had several bathing complexes. Here we see one of the entrances to the caldarium (hot room) of the Central Bath complex that dates to the Roman Imperial period (2nd century A.D.).
Water was brought in through a five-mile long aqueduct from a spring near present-day Denizli, but its water had a high mineral content and was lukewarm on its arrival in Laodicea.
