Temple Veil

$6.00

Description

This drawing shows the Holy Place, which measured 40 cubits (69 feet, 21 m.) high and 20 cubits (34.4 feet, 10.50 m.) wide. It contained the seven-branched Lampstand in the south, the Table of Shewbread in the north and closer to the veil that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies , the Altar of Incense.
According to Mishnah Shekalim 8.5, the Veil was one handbreadth thick. This heavy veil was torn from top to bottom when Christ died on Golgotha (Matthew 27.51; Mark 15.38; Luke 23.45).
