Description
This drawing is an imaginative interpretation showing Abraham pointing out Mount Moriah to his son Isaac (Genesis 22). The city of Melchizedek is in the centre of the image, while the top of Mount Moriah is indicated in yellow higher up the mountain. After reaching Mount Moriah, Abraham built an altar preparing to sacrifice his son Isaac, according to God’s command. Because of Abraham’s remarkable faith, however, God provided a ram to be offered in the place of Isaac.
