Description

The Ephesus Gate was the western gate of Laodicea, from where the road led out to Ephesus. This road ran through the depression visible to the right of the gate.
The triple arched gateway is mainly buried underground. Only the upper portion of the arches can be seen. A Roman bridge, the piers of which still can be seen, carried the road over the Asopus river.
