Qumran Scriptorium

According to the Dead Sea Scrolls, ten men were continually employed in the Qumran Library. Here we see the process of producing the scrolls from the cutting of individual pages and drawings lines on them (bottom left), the copying from other scrolls and the assemblage and mending of the scrolls on the long tables (top right). Two special rooms were set aside for the storing of the scrolls in individual boxes (top left).
