Chorazin, in Galilee, was one of the cities that was cursed by Jesus because they did not repent (Matthew 11.21; Luke 10.13). This reconstruction drawing shows what Chorazin looked like in the early Byzantine period. Apart from the design of the synagogue, the village had changed little since the time of Christ. The houses were built with basalt blocks and roofs were supported by internal arches.
