Description

This is a view of the northeast corner of the commercial agora of Ephesus. The large courtyard was surrounded by columns, many of which have been re-erected. A covered walkway was located in between these pillars and the shops.
The Apostle Paul, who was a tentmaker (Acts 18.3), may have rented one of these shops or otherwise have set up a stall under these covered walkways to set out his wares and attract more trade.
