Laodicea Roman Bridge

$4.00

Description

The road leading west from the Ephesus Gate in Laodicea was carried over the Roman bridge which crossed the Asopus River. The road then continued through a narrow pass into the Meander River Valley, which eventually led to Ephesus.
It is exciting to think that, after having delivered the last of the seven letters, the messenger mentioned in the Book of Revelation, would have left by the Ephesus Gate, crossed the bridge over the Asopus River and walked over the 110-mile long road back to Ephesus.
