Description
In this view we see both the exterior and the interior of Herod’s Temple. The building was 100 cubits (172 feet, 52.5 m.) high, wide and long. The outer walls were covered with gold and the interior had several compartments. Steps led up to the Porch in which stood the Golden Vine near the entrance to the inner Sanctuary. 38 cells surrounded the inner part of the Temple, while an interior staircase led up to the intermediate roof.
