Description

According to 1Kings 7:49 and 2Chr. 4:7, ten golden Lampstands (menorah, plural: menorot) stood in the Holy Place of Solomon’s Temple. These Lampstands were presumably modelled on the Lampstand made by Moses, which had a central stem with three branches coming out of it on both sides. Each of the seven branches held a golden lamp. The lamps were lit daily using pure olive oil and burned from evening to morning.
