Description
All around the Herodian Temple Mount were double porticoes with flat roofs supported by beams laid on two rows of columns and anchored in the outer walls. Walking inside them offers shelter from the hot sun in summertime and the rain in wintertime.
Remains of the adjoining pavement (indicated by yellow) has been found near the Gate of the Cotton Merchants.
