Description

Archaeological and historical research has shown that Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah was built on the Eastern Hill only and did not include the Western Hill. The city described in Nehemiah chapter 3 was located to the west of the Kedron Valley and east of the Central (later: Tyropoeon) Valley. Some buildings mentioned in the Book of Nehemiah chapter 3 have been indicated to help with orientation.
This image of a model of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah has been annotated. There is another identical image available without annotations.
