Herod’s Temple Mount

$6.00

Description

An overall view of the Temple Mount as seen from the Mount of Olives. The Temple stood near the centre of the platform, surrounded by buildings. The Royal Stoa ran along the Southern Wall (left) and the Antonia Fortress stood at the northwest corner of the Temple Mount (right).
When the disciples pointed out the buildings of the Temple (Matthew 24.1; Mark 13.1,2), they would have seen the Temple Mount as shown in this model. The phrase “buildings of the Temple” refer to the many buildings that were built on the Temple Mount platform, and not to the Temple Mount itself.
